Who are we and why are we doing this?

We’re Kristin & Derek, a Florida based author-illustrator couple who stand on a foundation of faith. Still kids ourselves, we have a huge heart for the mental and emotional well-being of the generation that comes after us.
Many of us have suffered the detrimental effects of social media and virtual worlds, and we want to keep kids as far away from this as possible. Kids deserve better. They deserve real people, real art, and real stories. They deserve to develop real relationships and real friendships. They deserve to learn how to grow through challenges. They deserve to grow up having faith. They deserve to develop their own human intelligence, not artificial. And they deserve to reap the beauty and benefits of this earth that God created for them.
Our art encourages kids to learn through nature, to expand their imaginations and creativity through nature, and to lean on faith. Our stories build children’s confidence in reading and in themselves. Together, we give kids the resources to thrive.
